In 2006, the Isanti Fire Department was changed from Isanti Fire Department to Isanti Fire District. The current coverage area the District services is 170 miles.  We currently respond to calls from two stations.  Station 1 is located at 401 1st Avenue NW in the City of Isanti and Station 2 is located at 4891 County Road 5 NW in Spencer Brook Township.  The Isanti Rodeo Association has also purchased property located at the intersections of County Roads 9 and 45 for a future Station 3.  Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2010.The Fire District Board is staffed by seven Executive Members, which consist of one voting member for each Township and City.  There are 22 Firefighters currently on the Department with experience ranging from 1 to 38 years of service.

In 2009 the Isanti Fire District responded to 544 calls. This is an increase of 4.7% from 2008, and an average of an 8% increase over the  past 3 years. An extremely dry spring lead to more then average wildland fires,which are labor intensive and hard on equipment.  Of these calls, the District has had 0 lost time injuries. This means in 1,570 calls we have responded to, we have all gone home injury free.  Of these totals in 2009, 12,567 man hours were spent providing incident response, public education, fulfilling training obligations, monthly meetings and providing public relations.
