On December 28, 2005 the Isanti Fire Department went through some major changes which resulted in the transformation into the Isanti Area Joint Operating Fire District, or the Isanti Fire District.  This mutually agreed on joint powers agreement has proven to be a great success.  The Isanti Fire District is operated equally by each of the entities that are serviced.  6 Townships and the City of Isanti have 1 representative from their board attend fire board meetings where together they make the decisions that maintain our operations.  Monthly, the Fire District receives a report from its Treasurer, discusses/votes on payables, and discusses old and new business as it pertains.
