In 2006, the Isanti Fire Department was changed from Isanti Fire Department to Isanti Fire District. Also in 2006, the Isanti Township added six sections to the Fire District, which brings the total area served to 164 miles. We are currently responding to calls from two stations. Station 1 is located at 401 1st Ave. in the City of Isanti and Station 2 is located at 4891 County Road 5 NW in Spencer Brook Township. The Isanti Rodeo Association has also purchased property located at the intersections of County Roads 9 and 45 for the future Station 3. A date for building Station 3 has not been determined at this time, but the Fire District Executive Board has included budget dollars annually toward its construction.
The Fire District Board is staffed by seven Executive Members, which consist of one voting member for each Township and City. There are twenty-two Firefighters currently on the Department with experience ranging from 4 to 35 years of service.
In 2007, these twenty-two men and women spent over 21,082 hours responding to 510 emergency runs, training, public education, public relations, administration, maintenance and meetings. In addition to participating in Isanti Fire District activities, many of the Firefighters also belong to State, Regional and County fire service organizations.
